Aromas are developed characters of nut, honey, yeast, orange peel and burnt caramel. The palate is complex with upfront honey/marmalade and stewed apricot characters. A delicate broad acidity with a lingering cedar oak finish. Great shared with friends over some strong flavoursome, bitey cheeses. Not at all ‘unexpectedly’ good!
On opening this preservative free wine has a bit of a pop and some fizz, this is intentional and due to bottling under carbon dioxide which keeps it fresh. The fizz quickly disappears with a few good swirls in the glass.

Through an uncompromising wine-making process, with extended ageing on lees, we have prevented oxidation naturally, as opposed to adding Sulphur. This process has plumped the body of the wine giving it further complexity and has produced a wine with superb bright purple hue from the rim through to its core. Fabulous long finish.
For many years now, Sulphur is accepted as being part and parcel of the winemaking process. Well, here at Andrew Peace Wines we have looked to change this trend with our stunning no sulphur wine ‘The Unexpected Chardonnay’
