Tasting Notes for Fran.k Preservative Free Shiraz 2024
Summary: Let's be Fran.k- grown sustainably, naturally made and preservative free. Sophisticated natural wines, made simple for the modern day consumer. Naturally crafted from small parcels of cool climate fruit by Frances Kentwell and Nicole Braiser. Fran.k supports WomenandRevolution, an association of wine professionals aiming to achieve gender balance in all areas of the wine industry.
Winemaking: Hand Picked Shiraz grapes sustainably grown in the town of Canowindra and made without the use of preservatives or a heavy hand from the winemaker. The fruit was destemmed and crushed before transferring to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Gentle pump overs twice daily ensure colour and tannins are extracted without over working the fruit. The wine undergoes Malolactic fermentation in tank and is kept on MLF lees for an extended period of time to soften the wine. Made without the use of preservatives or additions. Vegan Friendly, Preservative free. Made to enjoy!
Vintage 2024: Vintage 2024 will be remembered for its slow and steady ripening, driven by an unusually cool and dry growing season .A warmer than usual and early spring brought ripening forward earlier than most vintages, and the fruit quality was extremely good and produced some great wines.
