With a new, fresh look and colour coded screw-cap, this Rose is oh-so-pretty in pink! Iridescent salmon pink in the glass it is all strawberries and cream with hints of tantalising raspberry & watermelon. Made from Shiraz fruit, the first taste is grippy and dry, with lovely red fruit flavours. Perfect with seafood or a spicy Asian feast.

QWINE - STEVE LESZCZYNSKI - 13.09.18 - 88 POINTS

“Pretty in pink, this cheeky Rosé is made from Shiraz fruit. Of the Organic new releases received, this would be my top pick. Watermelon juice in appearance, it’s an easy drop to savour. Not overly complex, there’s a curious faint whiff of apricot before mandarin peel and red berry fruits swoop. Soft with fi ne pepper spice, a little texture makes a play for your interest levels late adding some tension across the palate. Red apple acid crunch for the win.”

FROST ON THE VINE - MIKE FROST AUSUST 2017 - 90 POINTS

“This shiraz-based rose, sourced from an organically grown section of Angove’s Nanya vineyard at Paringa on the Murray River, shows cherry, watermelon and raspberry fruit on the nose and palate, with a crisp, clean finish. Enjoy chilled by itself or with food ranging from fresh seafood to chicken or lighter pork dishes”.

HERALD SUN - MIKE BENNIE - 30.07.17

“Made from organic shiraz grapes, this strawberry-kissed, gently sweet yet refreshing rose has great character. I like it best as a way to refresh the palate after a hearty pasta, whipping the mouth into shape for the next bite”.

QWINE - STEVE LESZCZYNSKI - 08.07.17 87 POINTS “A Rose with a cheeky smirk. Spring time lovin’ in a neat package. Watermelon, red currants and red cherries form the nucleus of this sessional Rose made from Shiraz. Good fruit is complimented by an acid crunch to cut through a range of foods. Chill it hard ready to tear into a picnic feast. Good value drinking”.

TASTING NOTES FROM THE WINERY

VINEYARD

Angove Family Winemakers is one of Australia’s leading Organic winemakers. The Shiraz for this wine was grown in the Angove family’s certified organic Nanya vineyard in Paringa, perched high on the cliff s overlooking the mighty River Murray. 15+ year old vines growing in deep, light sandy loam over a bed of limestone on gently undulating east-west ridges. This Magnificent vineyard is a showpiece for organic viticulture and we work towards improving the health of the vines and the soil with extensive undervine mulching, no artificial herbicides or pesticides and only natural fertiliser to achieve outstanding fruit quality with the added benefit of caring for our environment.

WINEMAKING

Harvested in the cool light of dawn in early February whilst the berries still had a reasonable acidity but also good sugar and flavour ripeness, they were crushed and held on skins for a short period to allow a little colour pickup and then drained and pressed to ensure minimal tannin in the final juice. Fermentation occurred under cool, temperature controlled conditions in stainless steel with a specially selected yeast to ensure retention of maximum flavours and aromas.
