Tasting Notes
Yangarra Circle Rosé 2025 is pale, dry and aromatic, with rosehip, strawberry, watermelon, blood orange, a touch of aniseed and fine dried herb lift. The palate is crisp and juicy rather than sweet, with bright red-fruit energy, citrusy freshness and a savoury mineral edge. A light chalky texture gives the wine more shape than a simple picnic rosé, while the finish stays dry, clean and gently mouth-watering. It is elegant enough for seafood and salads, but has enough flavour and grip for grilled vegetables, chicken and Mediterranean-style dishes.
Winemaking
The fruit was hand-picked from Yangarra’s elevated McLaren Vale estate vineyards. The varieties were individually pressed to tank and settled, then the clear juice was racked to stainless steel for cool fermentation. The wine spent two months on lees in stainless steel, followed by five months of maturation in old French oak barrels before blending. This gentle approach preserves the rosehip and strawberry aromatics while building subtle texture and savoury detail.
Vineyard & Vintage
Yangarra Circle Rosé 2025 is grown on Yangarra’s elevated estate vineyard in McLaren Vale. The blend is 53% Mourvèdre, 41% Grenache, 4% Counoise, 1% Carignan and 1% Cinsault, drawing on Southern Rhône varieties that suit the region’s warm days, coastal influence and sandy soils. The 2025 season was the driest on record for the region, producing very low yields, small berries and high concentration. A warm February brought a compact ripening period, yet the fruit retained vibrant natural acidity and notable intensity.
Why We Love It
This is exactly what good dry rosé should be: pretty without being sweet, crisp without being thin, and textural enough to sit beautifully beside food. The Mourvèdre-led blend brings savoury shape, Grenache adds strawberry and rosehip charm, and the small Southern Rhône varieties add quiet complexity. It is polished, refreshing and genuinely useful — the sort of bottle that works for lunch, beach days, seafood dinners and everything in between.
Food Pairing
This rosé works beautifully with food that is fresh, salty, herby or lightly charred. The acidity loves seafood and citrus, while the dry red-fruit profile suits watermelon, tomato, fennel, prawns, grilled chicken and Mediterranean vegetables. Try matching this wine with →

Cellaring
Best enjoyed young while the rosehip, strawberry, watermelon and blood orange notes are bright and crisp. Drink now and over the next 12–18 months. Once opened, reseal and refrigerate, then enjoy within 1–2 days.
Producer
Yangarra Estate is based in Kangarilla, in the elevated north-east of McLaren Vale, and is widely respected for its certified organic and biodynamic farming. The estate focuses on Mediterranean and Southern Rhône varieties, especially Grenache and its close companions, grown on ancient geology and sandy soils. The Circle range celebrates vibrant, fruit-forward wines made from estate-grown organic and biodynamic fruit. This rosé captures that approach beautifully: hand-picked fruit, cool fermentation, short lees ageing and old French oak maturation for subtle texture rather than obvious oak flavour.

FAQ
What does Yangarra Circle Rosé 2025 taste like?
It tastes dry, fresh and lightly textural, with rosehip, strawberry, watermelon, blood orange, dried herbs and a savoury mineral edge. The palate is crisp and juicy, with a gentle chalky texture and a clean, refreshing finish. It is more refined and food-friendly than a sweet, simple rosé.
Is this rosé dry or sweet?
This is a dry rosé. The fruit is bright and juicy, but the finish stays crisp rather than sweet. It is a good option for drinkers who like pale, refreshing rosé with savoury shape and acidity.
How light-bodied is Yangarra Circle Rosé?
It is light-bodied to medium-light, with crisp acidity and very low tannin. The old French oak maturation adds subtle texture, not strong oak flavour. The wine stays fresh, clean and easy to chill.
What grapes are used in this wine?
The 2025 blend is 53% Mourvèdre, 41% Grenache, 4% Counoise, 1% Carignan and 1% Cinsault. Mourvèdre gives savoury structure, Grenache brings red-fruit perfume, and the smaller varieties add spice, lift and detail. It is very much a Southern Rhône-inspired McLaren Vale rosé.
How should I serve it?
Serve well chilled at around 7–9°C in a white wine glass or universal wine glass. A tulip-shaped glass will help hold the rosehip, strawberry and citrus aromatics. No decanting is needed.
Can this wine be cellared?
This is made for freshness rather than long ageing. Drink it now and over the next 12–18 months while the fruit and acidity are at their brightest. After opening, store it in the fridge and enjoy within 1–2 days.
Does this wine contain preservatives or sulphites?
This is not a No Added Preservative wine, so it does contain sulphites. It is certified organic and biodynamic, so it is made within the lower-sulphur limits required by those wine standards. It is a dry, clean and carefully made rosé.
Is Yangarra Circle Rosé vegan friendly?
Yes. Yangarra Circle Rosé is vegan-friendly, certified organic and certified biodynamic. It is a strong option for drinkers looking for a crisp Australian rosé made with thoughtful farming and no animal-derived fining inputs.
What food pairs best with this rosé?
It is lovely with prawns, oysters, grilled fish, chicken salads, tomato dishes, zucchini fritters, goat's cheese and Mediterranean vegetables. The acidity cuts through olive oil and seafood, while the savoury mineral finish suits herbs, fennel, cucumber and citrus. For vegetarian pairings, choose salads, fritters, grilled vegetables or soft cheeses.
Who will love this wine?
This will suit drinkers who enjoy dry, pale, food-friendly rosé with freshness and texture. If you like Provence-style rosé but want an Australian biodynamic version with more savoury detail, this is a beautiful fit. It is especially good for warm weather, seafood and long lunches.
Is this wine keto friendly?
This is a dry rosé, which is generally the preferred rosé style for lower-carb drinking. For strict keto, keep servings modest and match it with lower-carb foods such as prawns, grilled fish, chicken salad, olives or zucchini fritters. Avoid pairing it with sweet sauces or high-sugar dressings.
