Tasting Notes from the Winery for Twisted Sticks Organic Merlot 2019

Our winery is an A.O.C Certified Organic Winemaker and bottler. This ensures the quality control process and organic status of the fruit and wine is maintained from the vineyard to the bottle. The fruit quality was exceptional and extended fermentation on skins has produced a wine of great colour and depth of flavour with fine tannins. Oak maturation has further added complexity giving the wine the capacity for bottle maturation.

Vineyard Region: 100% Riverland, South Australia

Grape Varieties: 100% Organically Certified Merlot

Vintage Conditions: With extended cooler conditions throughout the 2019 growing season, the result was early canopy development yet delayed but strong budburst. Healthy growth continued and with sporadic warmer periods towards the end of vintage guaranteed the ripening completion. 

Colour: Colour is deep brick red with violet hues.

Nose: This wine has intense aromas of blueberries and hibiscus greet you followed by a subtle cedary oak earthiness.

Palate: Flavours from the nose follow you through to the palate finishing in soft, smooth tannins.

Laboratory Analysis: Alc/Vol : 13.5%
