Winery/Brand: The Natural Wine Co
This wine shows its youth with an iridescent cherry red hue and pink edges. Bold aromas of red and black fruit jump out of the glass, giving way to more subtle hints of violets and warm Chinese five spice, including cloves and licorice.
The palate packs a bit of weight, concentrated red fruit, peppery tannins and a slight grip on the finish. Flavours of dark chocolate and earthy spice linger after you've swallowed. Give it a bit of time to open up and you'll be going back for another glass.
The Natural Wine Co is a second label for Jason and Rebecca O'Dea of Pig in the House fame. They saw it as an opportunity to emphasise the regions ability to produce vibrant, full-bodied, Shiraz made with certified organic practices.
