Tasting Notes for The Hero Preservative Free Shiraz 2022 from the Winery

Dark garnet in colour displaying attractive red fruit aromatics with a pronounced raspberry note showing earthy and gentle spice notes. This is a fresh easy drinking style bottled immediately to capture the essence of the variety. On the palate it's bright with fruit purity showing a good intensity and balanced by cleansing acids. Pair with steak sandwich with Dijon mustard.

Winemaking

Healthy and problem free fruit is selected in the vineyard  and then picked in the cool of thenight and then rushed to the nearby winery for a fast and focused vinification. Fermentation is cool in a closed static fermenter before a short maturation on lees and bottling. 

2022 Vintage

2022 will probably be remembered as wet in most parts of Australia. However, in inland vineyards the rain did not hinder, rather it helped vines stay healthy and created favourable conditions for a modest and favourable crop across much of the country. Overall quality was up but yields were down.
