Tasting Notes for Hero of Zero Grenache 2021 from the winery

A lighter to medium bodied Grenache that is super easy drinking. Captivating nose of sweet berry flavours with hints of raspberry fruit and spice. The seamless palate is light and juicy with sweet fruit and a subtle earthiness and clean acidity on the finish. Perfect with a lamb shoulder. 

2022 Vintage 

2022 will probably be remembered as wet in most parts of Australia. However, in inland vineyards the rain did not hinder, rather it helped vines stay healthy and created favourable conditions for a modest and favourable crop across much of the country. Overall quality was up but yields were down. 

Winemaking

Healthy and problem free fruit is selected in the vineyard  and then picked in the cool of the night and then rushed to the nearby winery for a fast and focused vinification. Fermentation is cool in a closed static fermenter before a short maturation on lees and bottling.
