Tasting Notes for Rock Ferry The Corners Vineyard Grüner Veltliner 2017 from the Winery

Gentle aromas of green apple, pear and lime welcome you on the nose. Flavours of white peach and inklings of white pepper come through on the soft textured palate, balanced with a steely minerality and finishing with a mouthwatering acidity. 

Viticulture

Our aim in the vineyard is to grow the best fruit we can so it can speak of its home and express its personality.   To do this you need healthy vines and soil. By practicing organics and incorporating some biodynamic principles we believe we are doing our best to help achieve this and let our vineyards evolve and speak as they would like.

The grapes were hand harvested and whole bunch pressed. The free run juice was lightly settled before racking to ferment into two stainless steel barrels with organically cultured yeast, and into one neutral seasoned oak barrel for a spontaneous ferment with indigenous yeasts. The wine was then aged on full ferment lees for 9 months prior to bottling.
