Winery/Brand: Random Valley Organic
Intense melon and zesty citrus fruits dominate the nose. Passionfruit and asparagus add depth and complexity. Fresh, ripe melon flavours are evident on this well balanced palate. The palate is lean with a continual apple taste until the cleansing acidity on the finish. The palate is long and flavoursome with an aftertaste of freshly grated lemon peel.
The Story
The vigorous Sauvignon Blanc grows on the lower slopes of the vineyard the vines producing tight golden bunches. The intense flavour of these grapes is appreciated by all and many are picked and eaten as table grapes before harvesting for our wines. The Sauvignon Blanc benefits from the annual leaf plucking session around veraison to allow the sunlight to penetrate the dense canopy and provide good ventilation- our hedge against fungal build up.
