Tasting Notes

Straw-coloured and softly effervescent, this Prosecco opens with golden apple, pressed flowers, white peach and a light minty lift. The palate is dryish, crisp and light-bodied, with fine bubbles and a sleek finish of Meyer lemon, sage and gentle orchard fruit. It is clean, fresh and aperitif-ready, with just enough residual sugar to soften the citrus edge without tipping into sweetness.

Winemaking

The Glera grapes are handpicked and vinified using the Italian Charmat method, the classic tank-fermentation approach used for fresh Prosecco styles. Fermentation is temperature-controlled in stainless steel, followed by secondary fermentation in sealed tanks for around 30 days. The wine is then bottled promptly to preserve its apple, peach, floral and citrus aromatics.

Vineyard & Vintage

This non-vintage Prosecco DOC comes from Veneto in northern Italy, the traditional home of Glera-based sparkling wine. It is 11.0% ABV, with around 8 g/L residual sugar, 5.4 g/L total acidity and 0.8 g of sugar per 100mL. The low alcohol, fresh acidity and gentle fruit sweetness make it a classic aperitivo-style Prosecco for drinking young.

Why We Love It

This is exactly what many people want from organic Prosecco: fresh, light, easy to pour and quietly pretty in the glass. The golden apple, white peach and pressed-flower notes make it charming, while the Meyer lemon and sage finish gives it enough freshness for food. It is certified organic, vegan suitable and lower in alcohol than many table wines.

Food Pairing

With crisp bubbles, apple, peach, citrus and light floral notes, this Prosecco is made for aperitivo food, seafood, fresh cheeses and salty little bites. It also works beautifully with lightly fried dishes, herbs, lemon and simple vegetarian starters.

Producer

Pizzolato is based in Veneto, Italy, and the family winery has been connected to organic farming for decades. Settimo Pizzolato joined the family farm in 1981 and began moving away from chemical inputs toward integrated pest management and organic methods. The winery became organically certified in 1991, the year Italy’s organic certification system was introduced. Today Pizzolato is known internationally for organic and vegan Italian wines, with Prosecco a key part of its identity and a natural expression of the region’s Glera vineyards.

FAQ

What does Pizzolato Organic Prosecco DOC Brut NV taste like?

It tastes fresh and lightly floral, with golden apple, white peach, pressed flowers, mint and Meyer lemon. The palate is light-bodied, crisp and softly effervescent, with a sleek medium-length finish. It is a classic aperitif Prosecco rather than a rich, yeasty Champagne-style sparkling.

Is this Prosecco dry or sweet?

This is a Brut Prosecco with around 8 g/L residual sugar. It tastes dryish and refreshing, with a little fruit softness to balance the bubbles and acidity. It is not a sweet sparkling wine, but it is softer than very dry Brut Nature styles.

What is the body, acidity and bubble style like?

The body is light, the acidity is fresh and the bubbles are soft and lively. The wine has enough citrus lift to refresh the palate, but the apple and peach notes make it gentle and easy to drink. There is no tannin and no oak influence.

Does this wine contain preservatives or sulphites?

This is a certified organic Prosecco, not a No Added Preservative wine. It contains sulphites, with total SO2 around 110 ppm. It is certified organic and vegan suitable.

How should I serve Pizzolato Organic Prosecco?

Serve well chilled at around 4–6°C. A flute will keep the bubbles lively, while a white wine glass will show more of the golden apple, peach and floral notes. No decanting is needed.

What food pairs well with this Prosecco?

It pairs beautifully with light starters, aperitivo plates, antipasti, seafood, prawns, ricotta, zucchini flowers, arancini and lemony salads. The bubbles refresh salty and lightly fried foods, while the apple and peach notes suit soft cheeses. For a vegetarian match, try ricotta-stuffed zucchini flowers or arancini with herbs.

Can this Prosecco be cellared?

This wine is best enjoyed young while the bubbles and aromatics are fresh. Drink now to 2027 for the brightest apple, peach, mint and citrus notes. It is not designed for long-term cellaring.

Is Pizzolato Organic Prosecco DOC Brut NV vegan friendly?

Yes, this wine is vegan suitable. It is also certified organic. That makes it a strong choice for celebrations and shared tables where you want an Italian sparkling with cleaner production credentials.

Who will enjoy this wine the most?

This is ideal for drinkers who enjoy light, crisp sparkling wines with apple, peach and citrus freshness. If you like organic Prosecco, aperitif-style sparkling wine or fresh Italian whites, this will suit you well. It is lighter and fruitier than Champagne-style sparkling.

Is this wine keto friendly?

Yes, this wine is keto suitable, with 0.8 g of sugar per 100mL and 64 calories per 100mL. It is still a Brut sparkling rather than a zero-sugar wine, so strict keto drinkers may prefer an even drier style. Alcohol still contributes calories, so enjoy it mindfully.
