So much fun in a bottle here with this light red field blend. Raspberries and liquorice on the nose, which follow through to the juicy red-fruit palate, complemented with a savoury smoked charcuterie character. Serve it slightly chilled if you like.

An authentic field blend, from the same vineyard and with grapes picked on the dame day. The fruit journeys from field to bottle together. Just buy it and try it, you will love it.

Tasting notes from the winery for Ngarto Field Blend 2019

NGARTO is a collaboration between two friends, Erinn Klein (Ngeringa) and Brendan Cato (Carto Wines).

Winery: Planted on a westerly facing slope on the immediate foothills of the Mt Barker Summit at 420m altitude, the soil of the Iluma vineyard sparkles with micaceous schist amidst a shallow sandy loam over clay. A challenging viticultural site with the potential for very distinctive wines.

Ngarto: Ngarto is a collaboration wine between Ngeringa winemaker Erinn Klein and Sydney based chef  and good friend Brendan Cato. It is a playful biodynamic wine from Syrah and Viognier grapes, made in the style of a northern Rhône wine region of France.
