Robert M. Parker, Jr. - The Wine Advocate, 31/10/2005
The 2005 Syrah de Malakoff is a top selection from the Pyrenees sector of Australia. It exhibits superb depth and richness in its smoky, camphor, black pepper, violet, and black currant-scented and flavored personality. Deep and rich, with good acidity, ripe tannin, a hint of minerals, and impressive balance, concentration, and intensity, it was obviously made from extremely low yields. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age, and consume it over the following 15+ years.
