Pure, unadulterated chuggability. Blush salmon in the glass, citrus fruits dominate this year. Orange blossom on the nose with delicate oily freshness, orange sherbert and mandarin peel oil coat the mouth. Late afternoon aperitivo time in the sunshine. Toes in the water, very good vibes only.

Vermentino and Nero d’Avola from the Bassham family organic vineyard in Barmera, SA.

Each variety was picked, pressed off straight away and fermented separately. Blended and bottled, the last bit of primary fermentation was finished in the bottle to create the “petillant naturel” style.

Delinquente is “delinquent” in Italian, which speaks to our desire to always buck the trend, break rules and do things our way. Sometimes you’ve got to heed the call of the wild child within. Sometimes you’ve got to go home with a bunch of grapes who’re ugly as sin.
