Winery/Brand: ARIEL Dealcoholised Wine

This wine has aromas of cherry, raspberry and cassis combined with a white chocolate, clove and oak bouquet from barrel aging. This is a complex dealcoholised wine that makes an ideal accompaniment to beef, lamb and wild game dishes.

The Story

PRODUCTION NOTES: This wine is made in a sustainable winery in Paso Robles, California. The fruit was crushed, fermented and aged in stainless steel using traditional red wine methods, and after fermentation, the wine was separated from the skins and moved to small French Oak barrels for aging. Just prior to bottling, the alcohol is gently removed by cold filtration, leaving less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.

Composition: 75% Merlot, 25% other Bordeaux varietals
Alcohol: Less than 0.5% by volume
pH : 3.18
Residual Sugar: 3.45 g/100 ml

“The wine has a wonderfully deep colour, just as you would expect with a standard Merlot really. Interestingly, some of my guests were surprised that it looked just like an ordinary wine, having not tried non-alcoholic wine before. The taste was beautifully complex and a great accompaniment to a heavy dinner… At only 24 calories per 100ml, it is also a great choice for those looking to trim off that extra Christmas weight gain.” Graham Lewis » Alcohol Free Review
