The Story
This is a particularly outstanding example of this wine style, which is a distinguished offshoot of the Diana Madeline. The inclusion of an appreciable volume of high quality Merlot (24%) and a small volume of Petit Verdot (5%) has enhanced the characteristics of the superb Cabernet Sauvignon, which constitutes the majority (71%) of this wine. The fruit was picked at Baumés ranging from 12.1 to 13.9, naturally fermented and matured for 1 year in French oak of which 40% was new.
