Tasting Notes for Cullen Cabernet Merlot 375ml 2020 from the Winery 

This wine was produced on a certified Biodynamic, Carbon Positive and naturally powered estate.

This outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot displays densely flavoured ripe dark fruits, complemented by discrete fine-grained tannins.

It was matured in French oak barrels for 5 months, of which 23% were new.

Colour: Deep medium red with a purple edge

Bouquet: Beautifully ripe with currants, plums and minerals

Cellar: Up to 15 years

Palate: Lovely fruit concentration with fine tannins. Ripe plums, cassis and dark chocolate showing throughout the finish

Vineyard: 55% Cullen Vineyard, 42% Mangan Vineyard

Varieties: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot. 1% Cabernet Franc

Harvest Dates: Cabernet Sauvignon: 27th February – 3rd April on fruit and flower days, including a pick on the 20th March being a fruit day trine and the Indian Day of Colour. Merlot: 1st April, flower day

Oak: 100% matured in French oak for an average of 5 months, 23% of which were new.

Alcohol: 13%
