The Story
This delicious wine, which was made for consumption in the next few years, comprises a blend of the main Bordeaux grape varieties. Although Cabernet Sauvignon is the main contributor (35%), this is closely followed by Malbec (27%) and Merlot (25%), with Petit Verdot (12%) and Cabernet Franc (1%) playing a smaller but important role. The diversity of the grape varieties and the maturation of the wine in French oak, of which as much as 40% was new, accounts for the quality and complexity of Cullens’ entry level red wine. This wine is produced from grapes grown biodynamically on the Cullen and Mangan vineyards in Maragret River.
