This wine is bright ruby red in colour with vibrant perfumes of dark fruits, blackberries and plums. On the palate there is plenty of juicy blackberry and black cherry fruit with touches of toasty oak and spice. Well balanced with rounded tannins and a long finish.
The Story
This wine is produced from grapes grown biodynamically on the Cullen and Mangan vineyards in Maragret River. It is compaosed of 76% Malbec and 24% Merlot. The wine has spent 15 months in French oak barrels. Please enjoy from now to 5 years.
Stephen Tanzer: Ruby-red. Zesty redcurrant, cranberry and rhubarb on the nose, with lively mint and mineral accents. Crisp, focused red fruit and herb flavors convey a light touch and a hint of orange zest on the finish. It's hard to imagine a wine that's farther from the outsized, over-the-top Australian red stereotype.
