White musk, laced with pepper over slate and Kawakawa leaf. Well weighted and tightly structured with baked apple notes, a ton of spice and a definite mineral note. Finish is fresh, lingering and dry.

Mainly grown in Austria, Grüner Veltliner is an exciting food friendly dry white wine. It is characterised by spicy and slightly exotic flavours of lime, grapefruit, white pepper and a crisp minerality. The name translates to “Green Wine of Veltlin”, with Veltlin being an area in Northern Italy during Roman times.

Reviews:

“Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with green hues, lighter on the rim.  This has a fresh, tightly bound nose with a fine core of fresh herbs, white stone-fruits and nuances of green stone-fruits with white pepper suggestions.  Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate has a firm heart with light flavours of green herbs, white stone-fruits and white pepper.  The mouthfeel is thirst-quenchingly dry and the wine flows along a fine phenolic line with integrated acidity, leading to a slender, dry, lingering finish with stone-fruit and mineral nuances.  This is a taut and light fruited Grüner Veltliner with white stone-fruit and herb flavours on a mouthwatering, dry palate.”

4 STARS - Raymond Chan, www.raymondchanwinereviews.co.nz, April 2017

“Drinking well now, this is an invitingly fragrant, dry wine. Medium-bodied (12% alc/vol), it has vibrant, peachy flavours, hints of ginger, herbs and spices, and a well-rounded finish. Certified organic.”
