Angove Family Winemakers are one of Australia’s leading Organic winemakers. Sourced from our own Organically certified Nanya vineyards and premium certified Organic growers in the Riverland region. Soils are predominantly red sandy loam over limestone, on gently undulating east west ridges.
Vintage 2014 in the heartland of the Australian wine industry was early but evenly paced and once things warmed up in late spring it was back to more normal conditions for the Riverland. These perfect growing conditions produced fruit of fantastic quality.
The grapes for this wine were harvested at night to make sure that they were as cool as possible. Crushed to both rotary and ‘sweeparm’ fermenters the grapes were then allowed to macerate for 2 days before inoculation and fermentation. Pressed off skins when optimum flavour and colour levels were achieved and allowed to go through the second malolactic fermentation. Stored in seasoned oak barrels until assemblage the wine has then had minimal handling prior to filtration for bottling at our certified Organic winery.

WEST AUSTRALIAN - RAY JORDAN - 14.05.15 - 88/100
“This organically grown shiraz cabernet blend offers pretty decent drinking for a terrific price. It’s medium bodied with a delicious sweet fruit flavour of red berry and plum with a little vanillin oak adding an appealing lift. It’s soft and supple with good structure.”
THE WEEKLY REVIEW - BEN THOMAS - 02.04.15
“Angove’s has been making wine for five generations and they’re leading the way with affordable organic wines. It’s certified organic, but more importantly for me it’s a tasty wine. There’s blackberry aromas from the shiraz, plus dusty redcurrant and bay leaf aromas from the cabernet. It sits in a generous zone between medium and full-bodied, with rich red and blackberry flavours.”
QWINE - STEVE - 10.04.15
“Raspberries, bitter dark chocolate, some clove and a dash of baking spice. There’s almost a raspberry and chocolate tart likeness here and the whole package offers quite a bit of interest. There is not much acid to speak of and the fruit predominantly sits on the mid palate.”
