Winery/Brand: Rosnay

The wine style is very similar to the 2008 Vintage, picked early for natural acidity, though it has slightly higher acidity (10 grams per litre) and residual sugar (18 grams per litre). The alcohol is lower at 9%. This vintage was fermented with certified organic sugar.

The Story

After 12 years of growing premium chardonnay comes Rosnay’s second “Vintage Chardonnay” sparkling white. A smaller quantity was produced in 2009 due to the reworking of the chardonnay cordon and the limited availability of fruit.

Chardonnay is the specialty of the Cowra wine region of the Central Ranges of NSW, and is a traditional variety for sparkling wine. When it is the sole variety it is known as Blanc de Blanc ("White from White").

This wine is packaged beautifully and sealed with a high quality, low permeability cork. It is bottled with very low sulphur, and is certified organic.

“Light and fruity wine with lifted fragrances of blossoms, followed by simple, fresh, berry fruit flavours.” Three and a half Stars, Equal Best in Category May 2010 Winestate Magazine

“The most sophisticated stuff with a roo on the label in the whole country. Indeed it’s a few notches above many without marsupials”. 8.5/10, Northern Star, 27/3/2010
