Lemon gold, slightly cloudy in colour. Soft textural skin contact Chardonnay from the Adelaide Hills. Saline and subtle Chardonnay melon and pineapple flavours with a touch of oaky hints. Creamy texture with nutty complexity. A lovely natural wine.

Tasting notes from the winery for Ngarto Skinsy Chardonnay 2019

NGARTO is a collaboration between two friends, Erinn Klein (Ngeringa) and Brendan Cato (Carto Wines)

Winery: Ngeringa has been certified biodynamic for more than 20 years. It is the biodynamic process that creates a balanced and healthy relationship between soil, plant and all living beings – and opens the vines to optimum expression of flavour in the glass.

Technical Details:
Variety: Chardonnay
Harvest: Hand harvested, 27th February 2019
Fermentation: Wild yeast, 10 days on skins.
Winemaking: Naturally...no fining, no filtration.
Élevage: Old French oak for 8 months and 6 months in bottle.
So2: Minimal...free 5mg/L, total 9mg/L
Site: Summit Vineyard, 380m, Mt Barker Summit
Soil: Sandy loam, over red-orange clay and sandstone
