Tasting Notes:
Colour: Straw colour with green tinges
Bouquet: Complex blend of lime, guava and passionfruit and fresh cut grass
Palate: Refined, elegant and again complex, with great depth of middle palate fruit. The attractive combination of fresh passionfruit and pineapple fruit flavours are enhanced by the mineral texture. This wine has the great advantage of having an alcohol content of only 12% and yet still possesses great depth of flavour
Cellaring: Great drinking now and over the next 2-3 years
Food: Excellent as an aperitif or with crustaceans, fish and chicken
Background, Vintage and Winemaker Notes:
This great wine made entirely from fruit grown on Cullens own vineyards. As it is made predominantly from the traditional Bordeaux blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, it is bottled in a Bordeaux bottle. However, the wine does contain a small amount of Chardonnay and this has added complexity and a touch of richness to the middle palate, without changing the basic structure of the wine.
