Rock Ferry

Rock Ferry is a landmark Marlborough New Zealand property where early settlers crossed the Wairau River. Today Rock Ferry wines reflect this heritage by combining traditional and modern winemaking techniques to produce wines of purity, intensity and distinction. Rock Ferry wines are a true expression of single vineyard winegrowing.

Rock Ferry Wines produce Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Gris and a Botrytis Riesling all hand crafted from a single vineyard (known as 'The Corners') planted in Marlborough which is in the process of being converted to certified organic status.

Allan McWilliams is the wine maker for the Rock Ferry Wines and employs indigenous yeasts with minimal fining to all the Rock Ferry wines. The company supply wines for mainly domestic and some export markets.

Our aim is best summed up by “fine wine begins with the vine”. Our approach is through organic and bio-dynamic viticulture (the Corners Vineyard is in conversion to BioGro certification) where we strive for “balance” in the vineyard. This ultimately provides grapes that are a reflection of our particular site or as the French say “terroir”.
