Winery/Brand: Retief Wines

Colour: Very pale peach-pink
Bouquet: A hint of strawberry and cherry on the nose breezing subtly through to the front palate.
Palate: Beautifully balanced, with excellent structure. A small amount of fruit tannin on the back palate creates a refreshingly clean, dry finish.
A very refreshing wine. Best served well chilled.

The Story

The Retief family organic vineyards are located in the beautiful Kyeamba Valley near Ladysmith, 25 km south east of Wagga Wagga within the burgeoning Gundagai wine region of NSW. Having been managed sustainably since establishment in 1997, they have attained Biodynamic Certification through ACO (Producer 10158BD) since 2005.

This nurturing of the vines is definitely reflected in the bottle, with wine that is soft and full of fruit, elegance and finesse. Created by winemaker son, Alexander Retief, with BD Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from the family vineyard, this scrumptious classic dry style Rose emulates the more traditional French Roses.

" It was treated like a white wine (spending only a couple of hours on skins to extract a subtle amount of colour before being pressed off). Minimal sulphur has been used to ensure both preservation of the wine and enjoyment after drinking!"

Alc/Vol: 13%
No GMO added
Very minimal sulphur (220) added (<70ppm)
