Vines were first established by Ian Hanson in the 1960's at his property near the junction of the Yarra & Plenty rivers. Subsequently the 75 acre Tarrahill property at Yarra Glen was established. Organic practices include minimal spraying, recycling of grape marc onto the vines, cover crops are sown to encourage natural predators & then mulched under the vines, and no use of synthetic fertilisers. The fruit quality combined with proficient winemaking produces wines with plenty of interest & complexity.
