The Donovan family history in Australian wine started with a vineyard at Rhymney planted by forebear Peter Pola who arrived from Switzerland in 1864. Today they have eight hectares of Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz planted at their vineyard south-west of Stawell. Their reputation for producing distantly regional wines, especially their concentrated & generously-flavoured reds, is quietly growing.
