Situated on the rugged Limestone Coast of South Australia, Cape Jaffa Wines was established in 1993 by Derek Hooper. The eye-catching cellar door is spectacularly sited atop a hill with sweeping views across rolling vineyards to the Great Southern Ocean.
28 hectares are planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay with some Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc Merlot and Petit Verdot. The winery also makes wine for the Chapoutier labels from fruit grown on Chapoutier's Mount Benson vineyard. Much of “Limestone Coast Vineyards” fruit is used in Cape Jaffa's flagship labels. Derek Hooper is Chief Winemaker and has won a number of awards and accolades from reviewers for his wine made from Mount Benson fruit.
They produce stylish wines of distinction with a focus is on sustainability in the vineyard and consistent commitment to quality in the winery. The wines are certified biodynamic in-conversion.
