The Story

Richmond Plains Pinot Noir is made in an elegant appealing style which can be enjoyed when young but will also benefit from a little cellaring allowing it to develop more complex characters. All Richmond Plains grapes are grown on our own vineyard. Both the growing of our grapes and winemaking are certified organic by BioGro New Zealand. Vintage: Grapes bunches were thinned and hand harvested to maximise flavours and fruit quality.
Winemaking: The fruit was crushed and de-stemmed and transferred to open fermenters. After a period of cold maceration for 4 days the juice was inoculated for fermentation. Regular hand plunging over 10 days was carried out in the winery. The fermenting juice was then transferred into a mixture of French and American oak barriques for maturation and to wait for secondary fermentation in the spring before bottling in the new year.
Sulphur: This wine is made with minimal levels of sulphur/SO2/preservative 220.
Vegan: This wine is suitable for vegan diets.
Alcohol: 13.5%
Residual Sugar: Dry
