Almost purple in colour, the wine shows classic Canowindra dark berry and plum characteristics with some hints of vanilla and coconut from its oak exposure.
The Story
This wine was made from grapes grown on the north facing slopes of our vineyard overlooking the Belubula River. The fruit was hand picked and basket pressed after open fermentation then matured in oxygen permeable barrels with new American oak.
It was bottled seven months after harvest and before any sulphur [preservative 220] was added. On testing 6 weeks after bottling it returned a 'zero' for sulphur content.
It is drinking well now and should keep well as it is bottled under screw cap, but it is not recommended for long term cellaring.Wine Maker; Graham Kerr
