Lars Jensen and his wife, Sam, believe in working with nature – so it's hardly surprising
they have been described by some as "environmental idealists". The couple own Richmond
Plains, an eight-hectare vineyard near Nelson. The vineyard has been certified organic
since 1992 and, in 2008, became the first New Zealand vineyard to carry both organic
and biodynamic certification... »

review » Bright green-straw;
certified organically grown; like the shiraz, well-handled, and with plenty of flavour.
Its organic credentials are enhanced by the Lean+Green bottle with 38% less glass
than the conventional bottle. This results in 19% less water being used and 19%
less carbon dioxide being produced in the bottle production. 88pts » James

review » This blend,
sourced from selected certified organic grape growers in South Australia, is a deep
crimson red with a strong showing of purple. The spicy aroma - with prominent dark
berries - is intense but not cloying. This full-flavoured wine is peppery and has
a little gusto without being intimidating. An enjoyable drop and well-priced.

review » Fresh, dry
& crisp on the palate. The Wild White has plenty of citrusy character with some
white pear & spicy floral to make it a delightful way to while away the afternoon.
Ripe with some flesh to round it out & a satisfying length. Drink this with friends
or with food – either way – drink it to enjoy it. Value: $$$

tasting notes from the winery »
Rich cherry red in colour, it has a nose of dried spice with lifted notes of black
plums with hint of mocca. Tobacco and dried spices are layered over pristine flavours
of blackcurrant and cherries. Fine French oak balances the intense fruit driven
palate. CUISINE: Wood fired pizza with prosciutto, rocket, freshly shaved parmesan
cheese and plenty of cracked pepper.

review by organic wine june 2011 »
The nose has an attractive herby fennel character and some mineral hints. The fresh
palate delivers with mouthwatering acid and lovely texture with
a bit of viscosity. Not all Sauv Blancs give you satisfaction in the middle of winter,
but this one has the palate weight & complexity from a couple of years age to
make it a worthy option. Don't serve it too cold, I tasted it at room temperature
and it was perfect. »
